Judith Gotwald

Judith Gotwald is a lay leader living in Philadelphia, Pa. She was born into a multi-generational, multi-denominational pastoring family. Her parents grew small churches. She served several denominational publishers as a writer and graphic designer, creating trainings and curricula. She also served seminaries, church camps, denominational offices, and church-related social service agencies. She gained first-hand experience serving a small, urban neighborhood church for three decades, helping them face the challenges of urban unrest, social and demographic change, and dwindling resources. She blogged almost daily on church issues from the lay point of view from 2011-2017 (2x2virtualchurch.com). In 2020, she launched smallchurchtoolbox.com to provide small congregations with the tools for education/faith formation and outreach/evangelism ministries using modern technology. The pandemic prompted Family Corner, weekly resources directed to homebound families and outreach challenges are addressed with resources to help small churches use email to reach beyond their walls.
