What’s your name?
Lee Snow
Where do you serve, what is your title, and how long have you served there?
Minister (11yrs) & Freelance Graphic Designer (8 yrs)
How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t go to church?
A medium-sized church that believes it’s important to restore the ways and beliefs of the early Christians in Jesus’ day.
What were some of the things that you experienced that shaped the way you approach your work?
Working with smaller churches, I was forced to learn graphic design to help them which means I have learned that sometimes the conventional way isn’t always the most effective.
What’s the one thing you wish people knew about your job?
“Small churches” are ideally the hand of the Church (lots of small “bones” working together for amazing things).
What is the one tool for your job that you can’t live without, and why?
MacBook Pro! But more specifically social media to see what works/doesn’t work for other churches in real-time.
What is the biggest mistake that you see churches making when it comes to communications and marketing?
Way too focused on production.
Who is someone that you look up to in the church communications world?
The relatively unknown preachers and staff at smaller churches just knocking it out of the park in their little sphere of influence and communities every week!
Thank you, Lex, for reminding us to appreciate and learn from the small churches that are doing just as awesome as everyone else. We truly admire people like you who are as kind-hearted as they are dedicated to church service. Keep it up!
